Established on 23rd June, 1973, the Singapore Zoo covers a sprawling area of 28 hectares and is in close proximity to the Night Safari and the Jurong Bird Park nearby. With its lush jungle setting, the open environs of Singapore zoo is a haven for both animals and visitors. More than 2,000 creatures are housed within the landscaped enclosures, rock walls and streams of Singapore Zoo.
Besides a wide variety of animals, there are a number of special attractions at the Singapore Zoo such as the Children's World, the six island Primate Kingdom, the sea lion and penguin gallery, the air-conditioned polar bear exhibit and a miniature railway.
