Man Mo Temple

Man Mo Temple is one of the oldest and architecturally beautiful temple in Hong Kong and this is definitely a significant tourist attraction of the same. If you are touring Hong Kong, do not forget to pay a visit to this most visited and hyped tourist spot in Hong Kong. It is extremely easy to reach Man Mo Temple as it is located right at the intersection point of the Ladder Street and Hollywood Road. The Man Mo Temple is a historically significant structure which dates back to 1800, i.e. the beginning of the British hegemony over Hong Kong. As you enter the temple, you will find a huge copper bell welcoming you.
The Man Mo Temple is a well maintained structure and though the temple building underwent several changes due to various renovation programmers yet it is till the same temple which can still be identified as the most famous temple of Hong Kong. Renovations actually did not change the total set up of the temple so that regular visitors can look up to the temple with the same kind of faith they used to see before the renovation. The tourists look up to the huge tower shaped incense coils hanging over the courtyard from the ceiling of the hall as they get engrossed in the holy ambiance created by the smoke of the burning incense dissected by the sunbeams. According to the local people, this mysterious ambiance signifies good health, fortune and happy days ahead.

The Man Mo Temple is visited by both the Taoists and Buddhists and interestingly, you will be finding the two deities, Wenchang and Guan Yu of two communities are being worshiped inside the temple side by side. These are Chinese Gods for justice. The Man Mo Temple attracts lots of tourists during the Spring festival and most of the are from business class or financial community who give out impressive donations to the temple.
